Owners John Garrett, Jon Knopp and Jerry Garrett announce the grand opening celebration of Vero Propane Refill Station, Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 10 a.m-3 p.m.

Highlighting the day's event is Vero's First Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest, sponsored and emceed by local radio personality Rhett Palmer. Starting at 12:00 p.m., the timed contest features a cash prize of $100 to the winner. The event is open to adults, 18 years of age and older, and requires advanced registration and a signed entry waiver. A $5 registration donation will benefit Dogs & Cats Forever, who will also be on-site with animals who need good, loving , permanent homes.

Festivities include free hot dogs and beverages, free event t-shirts, a grilling demonstration by Tides Chef Scott Garrett, free eye screening by New Vision Eye Center, and a bounce house for the kids. The first 25 guests can get a free refill on their BBQ tank, and there are special prices all weekend for tank refills and exchanges.

Conveniently located at their newly renovated site at 475 US Highway 1 in Vero Beach, the corner of 4 th Street and US Highway 1, the grand opening celebration is planned as a family fun day appealing to kids and adults alike.
