My son attends Bright Promises Preschool, and I received a phone call last week that the school would not be able to open because of low enrollment. The school was supposed to start September 8th. They are still willing to open the school if enrollment can be increased, or sufficient donations can be obtained. This school was featured in the recent Press Journal article about preschools experiencing low enrollment due to the economy. The saying is true "You don't know what you have until it is gone." Bright Promises Preschool is a treasure that can't be replaced. The teachers are a mother and daughter team (Patti and Heather) that provide a perfect blend of structure and heart. Being a Bright Promises parent means knowing you are appreciated and your child is valued. On the first day of school last year, my son was very tearful. Within half an hour of my leaving, I received a phone call from Patti reassuring me that the tears had stopped and he was doing fine. Each time I have volunteered, I have received a thank you card. I receive phone calls checking on my child when he is sick. Handwritten letters are sent home to tell me what my child enjoys doing at school, who he plays with, and what he is learning. A weekly lesson plan is sent home, and he gets to choose which learning centers he wants to be in for the day. He has learned more than his ABC's. He has learned responsibility, sharing, independence, teamwork, and thoughtfulness. Bright Promises is located at the Asbury Methodist Church at 1708 43 rd Street in Vero Beach. This church is well known for its pumpkin patch in October. This school has been a part of the community for many years, and it would be a shame to lose this educational experience for our children. Please call the school at 770-0201 to make a donation, or to inquire about enrollment. Thank you.

Thank you Melanie for your testimony regarding Bright Promises.. I urge readers to visit our parent run website http://savebrightpromises.webs.com/ to learn more about the preschool, and hear from other local Moms about how much they love the preschool!
