School Leadership Teams Attend AYP Seminar

The Education Foundation of Indian River County and AIG Valic sponsored the School District of Indian River County's "Respone to Intervention Training - Achieving AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) Seminar." The three day session took place July 30, 2008 through August 1, 2008 at First Church of God.

More than 90 principals, assistant principals, resource specialists, teachers and therapists participated in the three day workshop. The seminar focused on Positive Support Behavior and Response to Intervention strategies. A grant from the Education Foundation provided supplies for the teacher development event. AIG Valic sponsored lunch from Panera Bread.

The Education Foundation of Indian River County strives to fulfill unmet funding gaps in the educational system. The mission of the Foundation is to enrich and enhance educational opportunities for all students and teachers, in both public and private schools, through effective fundraising and efficient allocation of resources.
