COLUMN SDIRC Adult Education

Evening Culinary Program

If you have always had a love of cooking and want to turn your hobby into a career, you may want to consider Adult Education's Culinary Program! Students will attend class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and alternate Saturdays. Class begins in August and successful students will leave with the skills and certificates needed to work in the food industry. Please call 564-4970 for more information or visit our office to register. Students rave about this class; it is fun, informational, and can be the start of a wonderful career!

Medical Billing and Collections Program

We are very pleased to offer an evening program in Medical Billing and Collections this fall. Students will learn the skills necessary to become successful in these two areas of the medical field. If you like the medical field and are looking for a position in an up and coming area, this program may be just what you have been seeking. Students will attend class Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 - 8:30 p.m. Class begins August 25, and runs through December 17, the cost is $453.00 and students may register now at the Adult Education office. Please do not let this opportunity pass you by!

Home Health Aide Program

Are you looking to have a new career by September? If you are interested in working as a HHA, Adult Education has the training you need. We will offer a fast-paced HHA class running from Aug. 20 - Sept. 10; students will attend class Monday - Friday from 8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. The cost for this 100-hour class is $382.00 and students are encouraged to register now as space is limited for this program.

Certified Nursing Assistant Program

If you are interested in working as a nursing assistant, Adult Education has the training you need! We will offer a class running from Sept. 14 - Nov 24 th. Students will attend class Monday - Thursday from 3:15 - 9:15 p.m. Students will also be required to attend some Fridays for laboratory assignments. The cost for this 220-hour class is $781.00 and students are encouraged to register now as space is limited for this program.

Gift certificates are available. Adult Education, a division of the Indian River County School District, is at 1426 19 th St., downtown Vero Beach.
