Medical Assisting Program
Adult Education is proud to announce that we have added a Medical Assistant program to our schedule. This class is scheduled to start Aug. 22 and run through Dec. 19, 2009. This program is designed for those students who wish to work as a medical assistant. The course will cover anatomy, universal precaution, patient care skills, insurance billing, patient charting, phlebotomy, EKG, and much, much more. Those interested should prepare for a very rigorous program that will require much commitment and hard work. Students will attend class 2 evening per week and all day every other Saturday. Students are then expected to complete assignments outside of the classroom as well. The cost of this class is $942.00 and space is limited. Please visit our office to register.
Photo Scrapbook
Have you ever been amazed at how beautifully detailed some photo albums are? Adult Education can help turn your plain Jane photo album into a masterpiece highlighting your family's precious moments. A 4-hour beginner/intermediate workshop will be held from 9 a.m. - 12 noon on Saturday, July 18
th. The cost is $24.00 and students will need to bring photographs and scissors. Students may bring their own album and embellishments, or may purchase supplies from the workshop instructor. Motorcycle Safety
Adult Education will host a Motorcycle Safety Foundation Training class in August, which will be held at Sebastian River High School. Please call 564-4970 for registration information.
Phlebotomy Program
If you are interested in working as a Phlebotomist or adding it to your skill set, Adult Education has the right training for you. We will offer a 165-hour class running from Aug. 25 - Nov. 24
th. Students will attend class on Tuesdays and Thursday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and every Saturday 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The cost for this class is $451.00 and students are encouraged to register now as space is limited for this program.
Evening Culinary Program
If you have always had a love of cooking and want to turn your hobby into a career, you may want to consider Adult Education's Culinary Program! Students will attend class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and alternate Saturdays. Class begins in August and successful students will leave with the skills and certificates needed to work in the food industry. Home Health Aide Program
Are you looking to have a new career by September? If you are interested in working as a HHA, Adult Education has the training you need. We will offer a fast-paced HHA class running from Aug. 20 - Sept. 10; students will attend class Monday - Friday from 8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. The cost for this 100-hour class is $382.00 and students are encouraged to register now as space is limited for this program.
Security Officer D (Unarmed)
Adult Education will have an Unarmed Security Officer D class that will begin Aug. 24 and run through Sept. 4
th. Students will attend class 6 - 10 p.m., Monday - Friday for two weeks. The cost for this class is $103.00 and interested persons may register now at the Adult School office. Please call 564-4970 for additional information or visit our office to register.
Certified Nursing Assistant Program
If you are interested in working as a nursing assistant, Adult Education has the training you need! We will offer a class running from Sept. 14 - Nov 24
th. Students will attend class Monday - Thursday from 3:15 - 9:15 p.m. Students will also be required to attend some Fridays for laboratory assignments. The cost for this 220-hour class is $781.00 and students are encouraged to register now as space is limited for this program.
