Saint Edward's Students Collect 6,000 Books
Contributed by: Cynthia Falardeau on 10/6/2009

The Education Foundation of Indian River County would like to thank Saint Edward's School for hosting the annual Building Libraries Book Exchange on September 26, 2009. More than 6,000 books were distributed to local teachers and librarians to start or to expand existing classroom libraries.

Each year Saint Edward's school holds a book drive to collect reading books and academic games. This year the lower, middle and upper schools exceeded their collection goals. Their efforts benefited more than 27 schools in Indian River County.

The Education Foundation and Saint Edward's School partner each year to present this annual service project to public and private school teachers. The goal is to increase the number books that are available to school age children. The Education Foundation exists to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for all students and teachers, both public and private, through effective fundraising and the efficient allocation of resources.
