2008 Graduates - ABC & SBC by VBPS
ABC =America's Boating Course
SBC = Safe Boating Course
VBPS = Vero Beach Power Squadron
Congratulations to the Class of 2008. The way I hear it there were 45 graduates.
The Vero Beach Power Squadron held two courses about boating. These classes were held the first quarter of 2008 at the squadron building, which is located on the MacWilliam Boat Basin across from the Riverside House.
Notices were in the Press Journal and on www.tc.yourhub.com, on the Indian River Chamber event calendar, on the www.verobeach.com calendar, they put a poster notice at the West Marine center, Vero Marina Office, Vero marina boaters lounge and at Vero Marine Center (the Grady White bunch). An of course the information is posted on www.verobeachps.org/ under boating courses. Don't be disappointed if you missed these, as we are holding a few more throughout the year.
The classes are the Squadron Boating Class (SBC) and America's Boating Course (ABC), both designed to be useful to all boaters, from the fisherman in an outboard to the skipper of a large cruiser or sailboat. All boaters are subject to nautical rules and regulations. Skippers should learn and respect traditional boating courtesies. The courses are meant to be of interest to the entire family; older children are welcome. We encourage your family to attend as a group.
The following are weekend courses scheduled for 2008 - April 19 and 20, June 21 and 22, and October 18 and 19. Please call ahead and pre-register.
