This year's Adult & Community Education's General Education Diploma ceremony was held at the Vero Beach High School's Performing Arts Center. Fifty six graduates participated in the ceremony. Students told their stories of good times and bad and how they had successfully obtained their diploma. One graduate, Jesus Gomez started in 1984 learning the English language. Mr. Gomez did not speak English when he entered the country. He continued his education in pursuit of his high school diploma. Later he received his diploma and participated in our 2008 graduation ceremony. He spoke about his experience and encouraged others to not give up on their educational dreams. Mr. Gomez currently serves with the Indian River County Fire Department. It was an honor to have Mr. Gomez and all the graduates who participated.
