This week the 7- 8 grade class at The Willow School began their presentations of the "Discoverers of America". Some of the discoverers included Leif Erickson, Prince Madoc of Wales, Brendan the Bold, Christopher Columbus and of course, the Native Americans. Our goal is to research each claim, dress up as our character and present the evidence to the class. Each student will write an opinion paper stating whom they believe was first and why. We expect this will be a lively debate which will help us better understand how history is written.

Meanwhile the 4- 6 grade class is busy investigating the major Native American tribes and how they lived before Columbus' discovery. Each student team will build a copy of an artifact from their tribe and present a one act play acting out a tribal myth or legend. We look forward to sharing our artifacts and plays with the whole school next week.
