Willow Students Visit Downtown Vero
Contributed by: Mary Ann Rhing on 10/2/2009

In the Kindergarten through Grade 3 classroom we have been learning about our community. To better help us understand how a town runs, we are creating one in our classroom. We named our town, The Friendly Kid Town and each child has made a shop, house and person. Our shops are: a City Hall, bank, ice cream shop, pizzeria, pet shop, dollar store, jewelry shop, art & music store, grocery store, movie theatre, library and school. To enhance the children's learning, we are visiting local businesses. Last week we went to Publix on Oslo Rd. along with Vittorio's Pizzeria. We watched Vittorio make the pizzas that we ate later that day for lunch! This week we went downtown to visit the gallery Tulaa and our famous chocolate shop, Faith, Hope & Chocolate.Of course we all had to try some chocolate! Next week we will visit a bank and post office.
