Contributed by: Elizabeth Thomason on 8/14/2008

Saint Edward's School is pleased to announce that their students earned a composite score of 24 on the 2008 ACT, compared to the State score of 19.8, District score of 20, and score of 20 for both Vero Beach High School and Sebastian River High School.

The ACT is a measure of how well students are prepared for college. ACT has established the following as college readiness benchmark* scores for designated college courses:

English Composition: 18 on ACT English test
Algebra: 22 on ACT Math Test
Social Science: 21 on ACT Reading test
Biology: 24 on ACT Science test

Founded upon the independent Episcopal school tradition, Saint Edward's School is a co-educational, pre-kindergarten through grade 12, college preparatory school committed to educational excellence. Saint Edward's is located in Vero Beach and is a not-for-profit, 501 (C)(3). The School educates students from all over the Treasure Coast.

*A benchmark score is the minimum score needed on an ACT subject-area test to indicate a 50% chance of obtaining a B or higher or about a 75% chance of obtaining a C or higher in the corresponding credit-bearing college course.
