The Rotary Club of Vero Beach again sponsors students from three local high schools:
St. Edwards High School: Eva Lauer and Sydney O'Haire
VBHS: Alex Pheneger and Ashley Villar
Indian River Charter High School: Brianne Manning and Emily Jennings
The Rotary Club of Vero Beach has sponsored many students over the past several years. This year 6 students will be attending a week-long global seminar at Carroll University in Wisconsin to discuss Global Issues. The World Affairs Seminar is a unique educational program for high school students which provides a forum for future leaders to be introduced to some of the most perplexing global issues and problems. It enables hundreds of the brightest students from over 50 countries to come together to study and discuss current issues. Emphasis is placed upon promoting a better understanding of the causes of international conflict with the thought that if the causes are understood, problems are more likely to be solved peacefully by our future world leaders. This years' subject is "World Hunger: The Dilemma of Our Time".
