- Patti Morris, SVP Indian River County Regional Manager for Riverside Bank along with other bank employees presented Jessica Frederick of Vero Beach with $1,000 in the bank's seventh annual College Scholarship Program.
Students attending either a two or four-year post-secondary school were eligible to apply. Frederick was selected based on her academic goals, community service and written essay about why she feels she deserves the money.
Frederick plans to attend the University of Central Florida and pursue a degree in nursing. Her ultimate goal would be to become a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics. She's well on her way as she's already received her Certification in Nursing Assistant (CNA) through the Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA) program at Vero Beach High School. Frederick has volunteered with organizations such as March of Dimes, Walk America, Race for the Cure, Turtle Trax Walk, Exchange Club of Indian River, Habitat for Humanity and many others.
Frederick was asked what makes her unique. She replied, "These days it takes hard work and dedication to succeed in life. I am a four time state champion lacrosse player. Through my four years playing lacrosse at Vero Beach High, I understand responsibility, trust, dedication, morals and discipline."
"Our scholarship program is another example of Riverside's commitment to Indian River County," said Morris. "Riverside is dedicated to support education. We know this program will make a difference in the life of our scholarship recipient."
