Charter High Grad Receives College Scholarship

Every year, the World Tang Soo Do Association schools of Florida and Georgia award a college scholarship to a deserving student, based on achievement and merit. This year's recipient is a member of Treasure Coast Tang Soo Do, a karate club at Christi's Family Fitness in Vero Beach. Ms. Megan Geraghty, a June graduate of the Indian River Charter High School, has received a one thousand dollar college scholarship from Region 21 of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Ms. Geraghty will attend Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee in the fall. She is also a 3 year student of Tang Soo Do, a Korean style of karate. Ms. Geraghty has competed in a number of karate tournaments, including the World Championships in Orlando, Florida, where she won three medals. She will test for her black belt ranking in November. Ms. Geraghty received her $1,000 check in a ceremony at Christi's Family Fitness, from Dr. Raymond Adams, PhD.
