Babysitting Boot Camp; during holiday success
Contributed by: Donna Roberts on 1/2/2009

On December 29th and 30th 2008 The American Red Cross North Treasure Coast Chapter held Baby Sitting Boot Camps at both the Port Saint Lucie and Vero Beach locations. 16 teens decided to use their holiday break to become American Red Cross Babysitting Certified. The babysitting boot camp teaches the fundamentals of babysitting like diapering, feeding and playing with children. This group was also taught Infant and Child CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation). The American Red Cross provides a fun learning environment along with important Health and Safety messages.

These 16 young women now have the tools they need to be safe and effective babysitters in our community.

The American Red Cross North Treasure Coast Chapter helps the residents of Indian River and St. Lucie Counties Prevent. Prepare and Respond to Emergencies. For more information on upcoming classes or volunteer opportunities, go to ntc-redcross.org or call 772 562 2349 in Indian River County or 772 878 7077 in St. Lucie County
