Water Fest 2007 will take place on Saturday, August 4 at GiffordMiddle School (rain or shine). This exciting and fun filled event is a fund raiser being hosted by G.R.O.W., a local non-profit organization. Spend a day celebrating summer with your children. Participate in all types of water games and relays. All activities are adult and child friendly. Slide down the 25' waterslide, play Water Baseball and after running through the pools at 1st, 2nd and 3rd base, slide 45' to home base on a mega Slip & Slide. The IRC Fire Department will be on site from 1p to 2p to provide mega blasts of water to help keep everyone cool. There will be a bingo and spade tournament, 3-on-3 & 3-point shootout contest, as well as all types of food and summer beverages and treats. To top off all the fun, the day will end with a sunset concert in the courtyard of the School. The concert will feature very talented local singers (two of whom have auditioned for American Idol), including Brian Carter, Sanquenetta Maines, and Ron Brown. We have invited others to perform including jazz, Caribbean/reggae, and country/bluegrass groups. Tickets and/or bands will be required for all activities as well as food/beverages/treats so get yours in advance and save.
