Florida Grades & Standards for Landcape Trees

The University of Florida Indian River County Extension Service, St. Lucie County Extension, Martin County Extension, Okeechobee County Extension and Brevard County Extension will provide a workshop on January 9, 2008 for landscape personnel. Continuing Education Units will be available for FDACS Ornamental & Turf (O&T) and Limited International Society of Arboriculture Florida Nursery Growers & Landscapers Association (FNGLA). Topics to be covered are Understanding the Florida Grades & Standards for Nursery Trees; Learning why the Grades and Standards are important; Tree biology and structural principles; How growers produce quality trees; and Sustaining an urban forest with quality trees.

This workshop will be held at the Indian River County Commission Chambers, 1801 27th Street, Administration Building A, Vero Beach, FL from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $50 and covers workshop, materials and lunch. Please make check out to IRCEAC and mail to Indian River County Extension, 1028 20 th Place, Suite D, Vero Beach, FL 32960-5360. Deadline for registration is December 15, 2007.
