Fat March Becomes Reality for the Pfiesters
Contributed by: Bonnie Pfiester on 5/8/2007

One of the best things about running a gym is the opportunity to positively impact others. The bigger the gym, or "audience", the greater the area of influence. With this in mind, you can only imagine the excitement when I found my husband, Steve Pfiester, was chosen to be Co-Host and Fitness Trainer for a new weight loss reality show for ABC.

The thought of Steve being a part of something so big just blew our minds. What an honor. Thousands of people applied and we just couldn't get over the fact they wanted Steve. It was very humbling.

Everyone who knows Steve, knows he's quite an entertainer. If it's not his silly jokes or his willingness to be the joke to make someone laugh, it will be his words of encouragement and his wealth of knowledge that will keep people coming back for more.

What many of you don't know is Steve has a very sensitive side.He jokes one of his worries is he'll always be the emotional one at vote-offs. He has such a big heart - but the contestants will need every ounce of it.

The show, called Fat March, is based on a very positive concept which hopes to not only be an inspiration to viewers, but offer diet and exercise information along the way. Even the game play is positive. Not only does every walker have a chance to win their equal share of the 1.2 million dollar prize if they complete the 550 mile journey, but they have added incentive to encourage team effort.

I believe the biggest challenge for Steve will be the camera. I mean, would you want a camera in your face 24 hours a day? I know I wouldn't want someone capturing my every move - I make too many mistakes! I just pray God would give Steve wisdom, patience and continual flowing of unconditional love for each marcher.

As for me, I admit it still hasn't really sunk in. Even though Steve's away, I won't really grasp the fact he'll be on TV until I see him on primetime, which won't be long. I am just like everyone else - I can't wait to watch the show!
