Longevity Clubs announces $120,000 Fitness Grant
Contributed by: Bonnie Pfiester on 9/24/2009

Longevity Fitness Club & Spa and Longevity Max Fitness of Vero Beach launches grant program to help subsidize new fitness memberships for local residents who are unemployed or who have been affected by the economy beginning September 21, 2009.

FITNESS GRANTS: The program includes a $50,000 allowance toward annual memberships to local residents who have been affected by the economy, $35,000 for memberships for the unemployed and $35,000 in scholarships for youth. The funds will be dispersed in $250-$350 increments to subsidize standard membership plans until all the funds are used. The plan will also allow members the opportunity to cancel in the event they become unemployed or have to move for added financial security.

TEEN-AID FITNESS GRANT: Since many parents have had to cut back on youth activities, the scholarship program will offer youth a healthy environment as well as supplement physical education provided by our schools at a fraction of the cost.

PURPOSE: Steve and Bonnie Pfiester, of Longevity Fitness Clubs, believe our community needs the stress relief more than ever due to the unstable economy.

With recent unemployment and cutbacks, people have the time to workout when they need it the most. Longevity's desire is to offer local residents financial support and more flexibility so residents can maintain good health, and even work on improving their health, until the economy turns around.

Fitness can improve the ability to mentally and physically manage stress while providing an opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle. In the end, the community will be stronger, healthier, more confident and secure.

LONGEVITY GRANTS:

The Economy Relief Fitness Grant gives a $250 allowance toward a one-year membership. Each facility has 100 available.

The Unemployment Fitness Grant gives a $25 monthly allowance or $350 allowance toward one year. Proof of unemployment is required. Each facility has 50 available.

The Teen-Aid Fitness Grant gives a $25 monthly allowance or $350 a year for students ages 12-17; each facility has 50 available.
