Vero children celebrate our soldiers!!!!!
Contributed by: Sherrie Coleman on 12/9/2007

When I discovered a colleague of mine had three children and her husband would not be home for the holidays, he is serving as a soldier in Iraq. I wanted to send a package to his troop and I asked some of my friends for help. The response I had was overwheming especially from all of our children. They were eager to pick things out that would make each soldier's Christmas a little brighter. Each child wrote letters of appreciation along with the big box of treats we collected.
We all met this Sunday to fill the box, send our letters and reflect on how selfless these soldiers are to leave their families to fight for their country.
What a great day we had and selfless way for our children to feel the true spirit of the holidays. And to think no one got a WII or X-box What an idea!
