Vero Beach Power Squadron Gives Holiday Help to Homeless The Vero Beach Power Squadron, America's Boating club, has selected the Homeless Family Center as the recipient of their charitable Holiday Food and Donation drive. On November 21, 2007 Ed Carr along with David Brooks, Laddie Kruiten and Jack Kruiten delivered a truck load of donated - items to the Homeless Family Center (HFC). A holiday turkey along with boxes filled with non perishable food items, paper goods, clothing and several bicycles were unloaded and presented to HFC along with several donation checks. The Vero Beach Power Squadron has been donating and giving back to our community since 1956 and the people responsible for orchestrating and delivering the donations to HFC are Bill Heimbaugh, Nola Cloutier, Glenn Rose, Laddie and Jack Kruiten, Edna Schubert, David Brooks, Harolde and Janet Leh, Helena Parker and Ed Carr. The staff, residents, and children of the Homeless Family Center were very grateful for all the donations which helped make the Thanksgiving feast a memorable occasion. The Homeless Family Center (HFC) is completely dependent on the generosity of our community in providing over 70 individuals a day with shelter, food, clothing, and a support system to help families get back on their feet. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of people who need your help by donating or volunteering at the Homeless Family Center please call Anne Kostyo, Director of Development, at (772) 567-5537.
