Safe Room
In a safe room! Well my wife was watching the news about Tropical Storm Fay. They said it was time to get in your safe room if you lived in Indian River County in the ZONE. It seems that there was a possibility of a tornado strike. We were under strike warning. Well the area (tornado strike) in question includes where we live so we started to look around for the Safe Room. It seems that means you go in a room that is not exposed to the outer walls of your house. We have a closet that we can't fit in so that didn't work.
So what to do? I mixed another cocktail and started to think about what to do in the future.....just in case! At the moment the winds are gusting, the trees are swaying in the heavy wind, the frogs are having a field day and making all kinds of frog noises in the back yard in the puddles (its actually a small stream in the swale), the cat on our porch is trying to figure out where the driest place is, I am looking at the ceiling in the kitchen at the new wet spots where I guess the rain leaked in thru the roof, and of course where to construct a new SAFE HAVEN.
So I mentioned this to my wife (about a future safe haven) and she said I should go easy on the cocktails because my ideas would get crazier as time passed. She knows me so well! I guess my outlet, when I get nervous, is writing about what's on my mind. I have been doing a lot of that these days because neither one of us is working so we are struggling like many Americans. But I want to be safe and protect my mate, as she is the most important part of me. She keeps me in check and loves me with all her heart and that's what keeps me going so I need her to be well, and safe. But due to our situation we don't have a lot of discretionary funds. What I mean is that we are getting by.
I am not whining I am just stating that facts. We have a lot to be grateful for and it would be nice to have a few dollars so we could not be in a bind but it is what it is and we have a roof over our head at the moment, food in refrigerator, good health and we seem to be able to get up every morning and smile at each other. Usually we go to bed and kiss each other goodnight. We express our love for one another and that is a good thing. My wife usually makes that comment (her love for me) first but sometimes I get it in ahead of her. I don't take it as a competition as I view it as a girl thing and I am grateful she is the way she is.
So anyway last night I set up my second computer, which is not, connected to the Internet. I did that because I had a nasty experience with the one that is connected to the Internet. See the article on Yourhub titled The Big Fight and others. My wife took a bath to help with her anxiety and then went for a nap during this Tropical Storm Fay.
I am writing this article and the wind is picking up. So I have some really great ideas (personal opinion not approved by the executive chief) about the SAFE Room but she is sleeping so I guess we shall discuss it later. I think I have a few good ideas but the challenge will be where to get the funds to do what I think we need to do to be safe in the future, assuming of course she approves of my ideas. Its 3:29 and we have weathered the storm without incident, I believe. Its still raining outside but it seems to be less violent. So I will end this article with the following.......... I have a great wife who knows me well and keeps me happy thru storms. She will let me ex-plain about the Safe Room and wants me around for some time to come. She has told me so.
We have a great friend who recently lost her husband and she is going to be going thru some ruff weather in the next few days even when the sun is shinning. We will be there for her but she would prefer Jim was at her side, just like I like Barb at my side, in the Safe Room, present here on EARTH. I wish you and your loved ones peace, love and happiness thru the storms of life.
PS - On the Safe Room.........to be continued I hope. I will post another story titled Safe Room 2, in future, on YourHub. Regards, Scully in Vero
