Hurricane Preparedness Day & EOC Open House

Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30. The Indian River County Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed Saturday, May 31, 2008, Hurricane Preparedness Day and the entire month of June as Hurricane Preparedness Month. In recognition of Hurricane Preparedness Day, the Indian River County Department of Emergency Services will be conducting a Hurricane Preparedness Day and Open House at our new Emergency Operations Center on Saturday, May 31st from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. There will be a formal ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Please join us for this FREE event and visit our displays to learn about hurricane preparedness and disaster recovery. We will have amateur radio demonstrations, child fingerprinting, door prizes, public safety displays, vendor displays, tours of our new facility and more.

The Emergency Operations Center is located at 4225 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach (just north of 41st Street, across from Dodgertown Elementary School).
