Shelly Ferger Named AFP-IR Chamberlain Scholar
The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Indian River Chapter (AFP-IR) recently named Shelly Ferger, Founder of Dogs for Life, the 2009 Chamberlain Scholar.
Annually, AFP-IR sends a chapter-nominated Chamberlain Scholar to the AFP International Conference. The nominee must be a fundraiser who has never attended an AFP Conference. The $500 scholarship will enable Ms. Ferger to attend the AFP International Conference March 29th - April 1, 2009 in New Orleans. The purpose of the AFP Scholarship is to promote and enhance the professional development of fund development professionals in Indian River
County and encourage involvement and membership in the AFP-IR chapter.
Sponsored by the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy, the Chamberlain Scholarship honors the memory of Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE, a founding member of the Greater New York Chapter and a longtime supporter of the Foundation.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals - Indian River Chapter (AFP-IR) is made up of professional fundraisers who represent more than 85 non-profit organizations in Indian River County. The AFP-IR exists to foster the development and growth of fundraising professionals and the profession, to promote high ethical behavior in the fundraising profession and to preserve and enhance philanthropy volunteerism. Members of AFP-IR are motivated by an inner drive to improve the quality of life through the causes they serve.
