Mary Horvath, a resident of The Club at Vero in Indian River County, recently celebrated her 90 th birthday with 40 friends and family members. A surprise party was held in the Grand Ballroom at The Club at Vero. Guests included five of Mary's children, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren from California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Turkey.
Because Mary loves a game of chance, the theme of the party was "Viva Las Vero." Guests enjoyed a Las-Vegas-style floorshow featuring Mary's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her son Joe as Elvis Presley. A delicious Italian meal was catered by Vittorio's II Restaurant.
Mary has lived in Vero Beach for four years, coming from Riverside, Conn. A native of Buffalo, New York, she served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and raised her family in St. Louis, Mo. Mary enjoys activities at The Club at Vero, including bingo, bunko and line dancing. She is a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church.
