17th Eagle Scout
On 11/12/2006
Contributed by: J Patrick Rice on 11/22/2006

On Sunday Nov. 12th family, friends, and fellow scouts came together at the Carriage House in Vero Beach to honor Jonathan Turner for becoming the 17th Eagle Scout in Boy Scout Troop 567. It was a fun filled afternoon as many different adult leaders shared their stories and experiences of Jonathan over the years. Jonathan started out as a Cub Scout in Pack 567 and earned the highest Cub Scout award the Arrow of Light. He continued into Boy Scouts joining Troop 567 which is supported by Our Savior Lutheran Church. Jonathan enjoyed many camping trips over the years and was able to spend 10 days backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch in 2004 with other members of the troop. In the summer of 2005 he attended the National Scout Jamboree at Fort AP Hill, VA along with 14 other members of his local troop.

In addition to his love of camping and hiking Jonathan is an avid soccer player and member of the Vero Beach High School Soccer team. The Eagle Court of Honor concluded with a barbque dinner in honor of Jonathan.
