Formally known as Tracey Ross to many of her friends here in Vero Beach, Tracey Van De Veire and her children Sebastian and Sabrina Ross are all graduating with the Class of 2008 from their respective schools. "The family that studies together, graduates together."
After staying home for over 15 years with her children, Tracey decided to go back to school and achieve her goal of becoming a teacher. Tracey Van De Veire, at the age of 46 will receive her degree from Florida Atlantic University on May 2, 2008. She has earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from the College of Education in Exceptional Student Education, graduating with honors. Tracey will continue her studies online with the University of Central Florida, working towards the Autism Endorsement.
Her son, Sebastian Ross, age 20, and also an Eagle Scout, will also graduate on May 2nd with an Associates of Arts degree from Indian River Community College. Sebastian has been accepted to the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida where he will major in Chemical Engineering. In addition, Sebastian has been accepted into an internship with a chemical company while completing his studies at FIT.
Her daughter, Sabrina Ross, age 18, will graduate with her high school diploma from Indian River Charter High School on May 24th. Sabrina has been accepted to Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida where she will major in Elementary Education and minor in Children's Minsitry. Although Sabrina went to IRCHS, she played for the Vero Beach High School women's soccer team. Sabrina is one of our very talented local high school women's soccer players and she has earned a spot and accepted a position on the Southeastern University Women's Soccer team.
This is an exciting time for our family and we wanted to share our graduation story to many of our friends throughout the community and especially with the Girl Scout, Cub Scout, and Boy Scouting community. Our family would like to extend an invitation to our friends and readers of "Your Hub" to make donations on our behalf to Sun-Up of Indian River. This organization offers a variety of group and mentoring programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
