Local Musicians Entertain U.S. Troops on July 4th
Contributed by: BOB RINEY on 7/9/2008

On Thursday, July 3rd, local musicians Bob Riney, Mario Mistretta and Steve Prause of "Lobster Tail"and "St. John's Wood", flew to Andros Island in The Bahamas, to entertain U.S. military personnel at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center, known as AUTEC.AUTEC, a U.S. Naval base, is a joint venture between the United States and Great Britain. AUTEC is located on Andros Island because of its close proximity to the Tongue of the Ocean (TOTO). TOTO is a unique deep-water basin approximately 110 nautical miles long (204 kilometers) and 20 nautical miles wide (almost 37 kilometers), varying in depth form 700-1100 fathoms (1280-2012 meters).

Riney, Mistretta and Prause (Lobster Tail) entertained AUTEC and U.S. military personnel Friday from 6 pm until10 pm, during AUTEC's Fourth of July Celebration on beautiful C.C. Beach at the military installation. "Lobster Tail" invited several local musicians to join them on stage during their performance. A huge crowd was in attendance.

Saturday night, "Lobster Tail" performed for a large crowd from 8 pm until 11pm at The Beach House Lounge, located on another beautiful beach at AUTEC. Once again, local musicians joined "Lobster Tail" in the live performance.

The highlight of the weekend for everyone was when Riney, Mistretta and Prause invited local musicians to join them on stage to entertain their fellow AUTEC and military residents. More than ten resident musicians took the stage with"Lobster Tail"to share their talents with everyone present. For many of the musicians, it was the first time their fellow residents knew of and enjoyed their musical talents.

On Monday, July 7th, the U.S. Navy flew the Rineys, Prause and girlfriend Charis back to the AUTEC terminal at the West Palm Beach airport. Because of business travel obligations, the Mistretta's returned on Sunday, July 6th.This was the third trip to AUTEC for the musicians, and more are scheduled in the future for "Lobster Tail" and "St. John's Wood". "Lobster Tail" plays classic rock & roll, and "St. John's Wood" plays British Invasion rock & roll. For more information on "Lobster Tail" or "St. John's Wood", contact Bob Riney at 772-770-0465.
