Nothing beats a care package from home whether you are away at college or summer camp. But think about how a package from back home feels to a lonely soldier in Afghanastan where everything around them is foreign and hostile...especially on the holidays. One of our local guy's is going to Afghanistan and will be leading 45 men in some of the toughest times imaginable. Marine 2nd Lt. Mike Tozzolo graduated in the top 10 students of Sebastian's International Baccalaureate program and began his military training at U of F. He is now being deployed to build outposts to quarter the new troops being brought over to the area in the Hellmont Provence of Afghanistan. Carolyn Lange of Thorpe Sotheby's International Realty is a close personal family friend who is leading the charge to bring a little comfort to his platoon over the holidays. She plans to continue this program to go statewide to all of the Florida military who are based oversea in hazardous areas. Carolyn said that Mike's parents told her that he is such a caring individual, that if she sent him alone a care package, he would just give it to his men, so she wanted to go on a bigger scale to bring a little bit of Florida sunshine to the whole platoon. Thorpe Sotheby's, where Carolyn is a Realtor, has already started funding the first package but Carolyn has asked if we all can do more. They can use handy wipes, chapstick, sun screen, toiletries, dried fruit, trail mix and anything that can be used to help make their time there more bearable as well as cards of thanks and phone cards to call their families for the holidays. If you would like to donate items, contributions or time to this operation to show your love and support of these wonderful men, please call Carolyn Lange at 772-473-7982 or email her at
carolynlange@comcast.net
or you can send cards directly to Mike at
2nd LT Mike Tozzolo

Oh and don't forget, Mike is a big Gator fan so if you want to make his day, send him a big "hoorah!" by way of the Gators!
