Bus Trip to Navy Aegis Cruiser Planned

Last chance to join the Treasure Coast Navy League bus which travels to Mayport Florida, Tuesday 18 March 2008 to visit the USS GETTYSBURG (CG-68) and a Oliver Hazard Perry FFG. Departure time is 7AM, Tuesday morning on two chartered busses loading in the Dillard West Parking lot at the Vero Beach Mall and returning at 7 PM that evening.Lunch will be provided at the Mayport Naval Station Galley. Navy League members, NJROTC units from Sebastion River High School and West St Lucie, Centennial High School and the general public will participate. Coast if $30 per person for the bus trip and lunch.

RADM Gil Guilbault USN (retired) will lead this visit. As the first commanding officer of the first Aegis cruiser USS TICONDEROGA (CG-47), he emphasizes that that the Aegis cruiser GETTYSBURG which will be visited is similar to the Lake Erie which recently shot down the satellite in the Pacific.
