Treasure Coast Builders Association hosts its 20 th Annual Grand Awards Banquet for Parade of Homes

The Treasure Coast Builders Association (TCBA) hosted its Grand Awards Banquet to celebrate the conclusion of its 20 th Annual Parade of Homes. The event, held at the Pelican Yacht Club in Fort Pierce, recognized 32 Grand Award Winners, a People's Choice Winner, and the inaugural recipient of the Annual Parade of Homes Green Building Council Award.

All entries were judged by 20 building and design professionals from outside the Treasure Coast area, plus three students from the Future Builders of America chapter at Fort Pierce Central High - Geronimo Sanchez, Miguel Barboza, and Kraig Glenton-along with Todd Cash, a graphing and design teacher from the high school. Entries were judged based upon exteriors, interiors, kitchens, bathrooms, bedroom and other features to score and determine Platinum, Gold and Silver winners for each category. Platinum winners were then compared to select the Grand Award designee for each category. (Grand Awards winner listed below)

"We're proud once again to have such a large pool of highly qualified entries," said Parade of Homes co-chair Arlene Brown from Fast Title, Inc. "These awards recognize the best of the best from across the Treasure Coast and demonstrate our members' commitment to top-quality, state-of-the-art construction."

"I surely don't envy the judges difficult challenge in selecting the winners amongst so many impressive entries," said Parade of Homes co-chair Don Santos from Santos Construction Company. "To be chosen as winner is definitely a feather in the cap for the winning companies."

Additional awards were presented during the banquet, including:

  • The People's Choice Award (voted on by the public): Gable-Munir Homes.
  • FPL BuildSmart ® Energy Efficient Builder Award presented by FPL employee, Robert Lacerda: Adams Homes, Ameritrend Homes, Associated Homes, Homecrete Homes, and Joyal Construction.
  • FPL's Most Energy Efficient BuildSmart ® Home presented by Robert Lacerda: Abney & Abney Construction for its Ivey model.
  • The inaugural Parade of Homes Green Building Council Award presented by the organization's chairperson, Cindy Hall from Cap Stone Industries: Abney & Abney Construction for its Ivey model.

For the second year, the Craftsman's Excellence Awards was an integral part of the Parade of Homes. In the past, the Parade's primary purpose was to showcase local builders and their products. The Craftsman's Excellence Award was added to honor area subcontractors who provided vital construction services and products to the homes included in the Parade. This year's Craftsman's Excellence Award winners were announced at reception held on April 22 at the Spring Hill Suites in Port St. Lucie.
