Serendipity Dance offers classes at Leisure Square

Serendipity Dance is a new up and coming dance studio in Vero Beach. Located at the Vero Beach Recreation Department, Serendipity is proud to be back where it all began. Local residents may remember Chris Sexton's "Chrisdale Dancers" who called the Recreation Department their home for over twenty years. Chris is now back as artistic director for Serendipity Dance and former Chrisdale Dancers, Jocelyn Sample and Amber Shawl, own and operate the studio. Their journey through dance took them away from the Recreation Department for about 5 years and they are happy to return. Both Sexton and Shawl left the Recreation Department to teach at a local Performing Arts High School Dance Program where, at the time, Sample was a student. Later Sample went on to teach there as well. Their love of teaching dance and performing for the community has brought them back together with the Recreation Department to form the new studio.

They have a performing group, which consists of some former Chrisdale Dancers and dancers they have met along the way. You may have seen them perform with the Cultural Council's "Inspired Art: A Magical Journey through Oriental Rugs" or the Theater Guild's 50th Anniversary production of "Night and Day" this past year. They also perform every year at the Vero Beach Museum of Art during the Children's Art Festival and Christmas at the Museum and have many upcoming performances already scheduled for this year.

Serendipity Dance offers classes for ages 3 to adult in a variety of dance styles including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern and hip hop. They strive to share their love of dance with their students and to the community. There will be an open registration on Sunday August 17th from 1pm-3pm at Leisure Square and if you sign up then you can receive 20% off the first month of classes.
