Boys & Girls Clubs President & CEO Wins National Award
Ronnie Hewett, Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County President & CEO, recently received the National Executive of the Year award at the Boys & Girls Clubs national conference in San Francisco, California. He was selected from among over 1,300 Boys & Girls Club CEO's across the country.
Mr. Hewett joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County as its President & CEO in 2005 and has been in the Boys & Girls Clubs movement for 38 years. His career path includes holding professional and executive positions with community Boys & Girls Clubs organizations in South Carolina, California and Florida, as well as holding the position of Regional Service Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of America Pacific Region. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and recognition, including the 2006 National Contribution to the Profession award. Mr. Hewett's motto is "every kid counts" and he is dedicated to ensuring the kids of our community have a safe, fun, positive place to learn and grow.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County has one clubhouse in Sebastian and two in Vero Beach and administers the Youth Volunteer Corps, a teen community service outreach program. Plans call for expanding into Fellsmere. The
top priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs is helping kids succeed in school and in life.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County is a United Way and Children's Services Advisory Committee agency.
