City of Sebastian Hosts Social Entree Meals
Contributed by: Sara Bumgarner on 9/18/2008

When Tropical Storm Fay flooded the multipurpose room at the Sebastian Senior Center, the City of Sebastian came to the rescue. The Senior Resource Association provides mobile seniors a hot, nutritious meal served at lunchtime Monday through Friday in five locations in Indian River County. Due to damage from Tropical Storm Fay, the Sebastian Social Entrée Meal program was going to have to be cancelled until the floor could be repaired. Al Miner, Sebastian City Manager and the Sebastian City Council offered the use of the community center for the meals. Thanks to the City of Sebastian, seniors continued to receive the meals and were able to socialize with friends. The floor has been repaired and Social Entrée meal program has returned to its home in the Sebastian Senior Center.
