CASTLE recently was honored to receive the "Agency Excellence Award" for 2008 from the United Way of Indian River County during a breakfast ceremony at the Oak Harbor Clubhouse in Vero Beach. The United Way "Agency Excellence Award" is "presented to an agency who demonstrates excellence in achieving measurable results and who has made an impact on the community in their reach and in their vision", as stated in the United Way program for the award event.
CASTLE is proud of its close cooperation with the United Way organization for the past 18 years and appreciates the financial support received as a direct result of this partnership. It is largely because of the United Way dollars that CASTLE is able to provide prevention services to people in IRC who would not otherwise receive them. The value of this partnership is endless for the children of Indian River County. In the year 2007/2008, CASTLE was able to serve 381 families in IRC. "Thanks to the invaluable support from the United Way, we will be in a position to continue to respond to those who need our help in Indian River County," observes Theresa Garbarino-May, CASTLE's Executive Director.
