Club Receives Agency Excellence Award
At United Way's annual Community Leaders Breakfast, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County received the Agency Excellence Special Recognition Award for the significant impact they have made on the health and vitality of the Indian River County community.
A United Way agency, the Boys & Girls Club has been providing important after school and summer programs to kids ages 6-18 in our community since 2000. Nationally recognized programs in the areas of education and career development; health and life skills; the arts; character and leadership development; and sports fitness and recreation equip young people with the tools and confidence to develop into productive, responsible and caring citizens.
The Club currently operates two clubhouses in Vero Beach and one in Sebastian and administers the Youth Volunteer Corps, a teen community service program. Plans call for expanding into Fellsmere and building a new club in Vero Beach in 2010. For more information, please call 772-299-7449 or visit www.bgcirc.org.
