The Indian River County's Alzheimer & Parkinson Association is unveiling two new quilt projects. The first project is called "
Quilt of Love." This is a quilt that gives people in our community the opportunity to design and create their own self-made panel of remembrance and highlight a story of love and hope. With the help of Sunbonnet Sue Quilters Guild members, they will assemble the squares and finish the quilt. We will create a quilt of lasting memories to proudly hang on the wall of our new location. To get started, you may pick up your free background fabric square from The Quilted Lily, Flamingo Island Design, Boutique 4 Quilters (Melbourne) or stop in our office at 2501 27 th Ave A-8. There is no charge to participate. Be creative and have fun!
The second exciting project is called
"Treasured Memories".Businesses in our community are invited to purchase a 12½" square for $100.00. This square will include your business name or logo and an optional message or saying. When this beautiful quilt is created by Pat Lester of the Quilted Lily and quilted by Sunbonnet Sue Quilters Guild, it will be displayed at businesses and then auctioned for keepsake. Included is a kickoff reception hosted by RBC Bank, downtown Vero on August 27th at 5:30 p.m.
Our Association has been helping families, friends and those diagnosed with these two devastating diseases for over 26 years. Our dedicated staff and volunteers provide support, respite, referrals and education to our community.
