Generous Individuals Challenge Others to Help Local Abused and Neglected ChildrenFt. Pierce, FL -- Two generous donors - Marquis Insurance, LLC, and a Vero Beach couple who wish to remain anonymous - have created a powerful opportunity to ensure that children on the Treasure Coast receive the care they desperately need - in spite of the tight economy and recent state budget cuts. Motivated by their desire to help, these area business owners each gave a $25,000 gift to the Children's Home Society Annual Fund and are challenging others to join their effort to help "keep the lights on and the doors open" for every child in need throughout the year.
"We hope our gift inspires others to give also - especially in the coming year when state budget cuts could hurt our community's most vulnerable children," said Shirley Reul, Director of Marketing for Marquis Insurance, LLC, a newly established full-service agency located in Vero Beach.
On the Treasure Coast, more than 1,000 children live in foster care. Many will spend the rest of their young lives without a permanent family. These are the children CHS is housing, protecting, mentoring, and nurturing. Their needs are many and their stories are heartbreaking, but with your help they will be safe, healthy, and prepared for life.
CHS is a Florida 501(c)3 organization with 14 divisions of which the Treasure Coast Division is one. With over a century of experience as a state and national leader helping victims become victors, CHS helps children of all ages through high quality community-based solutions that meet the needs of individuals, families and communities. CHS strives to break the cycle of child abuse through a variety of child-focused family-centered programs including Child Protection Team, Child Safety/Foster Care, Adoption, WaveCREST Shelter, Girls' Group Home, and Transitional Living Program.
