Piper Aircraft, Inc. will be taking the 2009 Citrus Gala and Cattle Barons' Ball to new heights! At a kick-off party held at the River House, event chairs Vinnie and Diane Parentela announced that Piper has offered the use of one of its hangers as the new location for the March 21, 2009 Citrus Gala and Cattle Barons' Ball, a major fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.
As one of the most popular events of the season, the Gala is well known for its western style, foot stompin' music, finger lickin' food, and good old fashioned fun. All monies raised at the event will be used in the fight against cancer.
"Piper is delighted to be able to provide the venue for this year's gala event," says Steve Johnston, Piper's Vice President of Human Resources. "We strongly believe in the work that the American Cancer Society does, and recognize the blessing they are to so many people in this community and around the world. The enthusiasm and support that our employees have shown for the local Relay For Life event has been both exciting and inspiring. The Piper family is firmly committed to both giving back to this community and in continuing to build on our wonderful relationship with the American Cancer Society."
Team Piper raised approximately $14,000 at the 2008 Relay For Life of Indian River County, and was rewarded with the title of Top Corporate Fundraiser.
