Carol Kanarek and Susan Chenault, both lovers of books and firm believers in helping local adults improve their literacy skills, are encouraging fans in the realm of baseball, mystery, international interest, and religious supporters of fostering understanding across cultural borders to attend the Author Series.

Bring your spouse to the first event series, a Champagne Reception on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 3 to 5 pm at the Indian River Shores Community Room. The third and final event of the Author Series will be a luncheon on Thursday, March 25 from 11:30 to 1:30 pm at Bent Pines Golf Club. Activist Kent Annan, co-director of Haiti Partners, will be the keynote speaker. Mr. Annan is the author of the upcoming book, Following Jesus Through the Eye of the Needle: Living Fully, Loving Dangerously will discuss his experience in working with the rural poor of Haiti and his struggles of working across economic borders.
