Quail Valley Charity Cup Announces 2010 Events

Quail Valley Charities, Inc. has announced the dates for the Eighth Annual Quail Valley Charity Cup. The 2010 Charity Cup will be a week-long series of events held from Saturday, January 9 through Saturday, January 16, 2010.

Activities will kick off with a 5K Walk/Run and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run on January 9. A gourmet wine and guest chef dinner will follow on Sunday, January 10 and a duplicate bridge tournament on Thursday, January 14. The Tennis opening matches will begin on Thursday, January 14 and continue through the 15th and 16th. The two-day golf tournament will be held on Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16, with the Grand Gala Cocktail Buffet, Auction and Awards Night wrapping the week up on Saturday, January 16.

The annual event benefits Indian River County charities with children and education as their focus. Since the inaugural tournament in 2002, Quail Valley Charities, Inc. has donated $1.5 million to local non-profit organizations with programs specifically benefiting children and education.

A total of 21 charities were selected to benefit from the Charity Cup events. They are: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Clubs, Childcare Resources, Children's Home Society, Dasie Hope Center, Dollars for Scholars, Education Foundation, Environmental Learning Center, Exchange Club CASTLE, Gifford Youth Activity Center, Hibiscus Children's Center, Homeless Family Center, McKee Botanical Garden, Mental Health Association, Quail Valley Employee Education Fund, Redlands Christian Migrant Association, Riverside Children's Theatre, SafeSpace, Special Equestrians, The Sun Up Center and VNA Hospice.

In addition to Quail Valley Charities, Inc. Board of Directors Stephen Mulvey, Kevin Given and Martha Redner, the 2010 Charity Cup committee members are: Chairman Wanda Lincoln, Kyle Ball, Debbie Brower, Pat Feely, Carol Fischman, Vice Chairman Tony Marshall, Joanna Meyers, Trudie Rainone, John Spooner and Susan Temple.
