The Women's Refuge of Vero Beach is excited to announce the completion of a matching grant made possible by John's Island Foundation. In June of 2009 John's Island responded to a grant application with a challenge of gifting $25,000 to the Women's Refuge, upon the Refuge raising a matching amount.

John's Island graciously allotted a year for the Refuge to accomplish this, however the Refuge Board decided to set a goal of three months. The $25,000 matching amount was raised in 74 days. The donation amounts ranged from $25 to $5,000. This is a reflection of the many great friends and supporters of the Women's Refuge.

The Women's Refuge is very grateful to John's Island Foundation for their support and encouragement in fulfilling our goal to minister to hurting women and families. The mission of the Women's Refuge is to bring healing and freedom to those who are overwhelmed by trauma and situations in their lives that they can not deal with alone.
