Scott Wallace was installed as the new president of Exchange Club of Indian River at the Club's annual installation banquet held at Dodgertown on May 30. Eric Menger, member of Treasure Coast Exchange Club and president-elect of Florida District Exchange Club, conducted the installation. Other 2008-2009 officers inducted include Jenny Frederick, secretary, and Tia Beinhower, treasurer. Ed Kay is president-elect, and Jeff Smith will serve as past president.
Other members of the new Board of Directors include Barbara Parent, Bob Poore, Jan Binney, Brian Curley, Dawn Redstone, and Narda Riese. Retiring Board members are Past President John Binkley, Eileen Ganser, R.J. MacMillan, and Marllyn Justice, 2007-2008 treasurer.
Jan Binney is this year's recipient of the Club's Exchangite of the Year award. She was honored for her years of service to Exchange; she currently serves as the secretary of the board of directors and publicity chair.
Andrew Molloy served as the Master of Ceremonies. Peter Armfield provided the evening's entertainment. Erin Grall, president of Treasure Coast Exchange Club and an incoming Florida District Exchange Club director, was a special guest.
Exchange Club of Indian River supports local youth-related charities for prevention of child abuse, including Exchange CASTLE and Youth Guidance. Funds for Exchange Club charities are raised through Exchange Club of Indian River Foundation's fund-raisers, including the Exchange Club Blue Water Open Offshore Charity Fishing Tournament held each Memorial Day weekend, the annual Charity Reverse Raffle, and an innovative new program that donates a portion of members' online purchases to the Foundation.
Further information about the Club is available from Jeff Smith, Exchange Club president, at 772-226-1395 or at the Club's websites, www.exchangeclubofindianriver.org and www.bluewateropen.org. Persons interested in learning more about joining Exchange Club of Indian River or working for prevention of child abuse may seek further information from any member of the club.
