On Saturday, September 20th the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County will celebrate Day for Kids, a day established to encourage caring adults and children to spend meaningful time together. The Boys & Girls Clubs has two exciting events planned and invites the community to join them.
The Sebastian Club will host their event at their clubhouse from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Activities include a cookout, variety of games, face painting, a bike safety course conducted by the Sebastian Police Department, and much more. For more information, please contact Arnethia Wright at 772-388-4944.
The Vero Beach Club and Teen Center will host their event at Leisure Square in Vero Beach. Activities include swimming, games, face painting, prizes and lunch sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orchid Island. Volunteers from Big Brothers Big Sisters and the staff of the local GAP store will be helping out with the day's activities. For more information, please contact Alex Soares at 772-299-7494.
Even if you are not able to join them in celebrating Day for Kids, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County encourages adults and kids to spend meaningful time together, to talk, to listen, to learn and to play, to share a moment, create a memory and make a kid's day.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County, a United Way and Children's Services Advisory Committee agency, is a youth development organization that serves over 2,000 young people annually with quality programs that develop citizenship, leadership and character. They serve kids ages 6-18 every day after school and all day during the summer at three Clubhouse locations in Indian River County, one in Sebastian and two in Vero Beach. Plans call for expanding into Fellsmere next year. The
top
priority of the Boys & Girls Clubs is helping kids succeed in school and in life.
