Dogs and cats aren't the only animals you'll get to visit at The Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County's "Happy Meow-r" this Thursday, September 25th. That evening, the shelter invites the public to meet the many animals available for adoption along with its three permanent mascots, Choo-Choo and Dolly the pigs and Sammy the tortoise.
Although the shelter will be open for adoptions from 11:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m., tours of the shelter will start at 5:00 p.m where you'll be able to "meet and greet" with Choo-Choo, Dolly and Sammy.
In addition to touring the shelter, visitors of all ages can enjoy complimentary snacks and fun non-alcoholic beverages like the "Bunny Hop," "Puppy Colada," "Pussyfoot," and "Feisty Ferret," all served by our volunteer "bark-tenders."
"Happy Meow-r" is a fun event designed to encourage Indian River County residents to visit The Humane Society and consider the option of animal adoption.
