The Treasure Coast Pilot Club celebrated the end of a successful year on June 15, 2009, as well as the installation of the 2009-2010 officers. Joyce DuMars was elected president and chose as her theme "Pilots' Gifts Light the Way". This year's board also consists of Jane Hudson, President Elect; Tammy Vock, VP Publicity; Debbie Adrean, Secretary; Barb Peltier, Treasurer. Directors are: Sandi Kelly, Fundraising; Mayme Hunt, Community Service; Debby Lundmark, Membership and Shirley Reifsnider, Director at Large. Each member and guest was given a key chain flashlight as a reminder of their gifts in life.
As the liaison between club members, the district, and Pilot International, Joyce will be going to San Diego, California this July accompanied by Jane Hudson and Mayme Hunt for extensive training on how to be successful in planning and implementing service projects as well as meeting local community needs. The Treasure Coast Pilot Club's signature project is
Project Lifesaver in partnership with the Sheriff's Department and the Alzheimer Parkinson Association of Indian River County. Monies are currently raised for all community projects through the Clubs annual Pancake Breakfast held in January and Autumn in the Park Arts & Crafts Show the first weekend in October at Riverside Park.
