TEENY TINY TOUR OF HOMES FOR MARCH OF DIMES
Contributed by: Robyn Hankerson on 11/4/2009

Program to celebrate Prematurity Awareness Month

Indian River Mall has partnered with the March of Dimes and PNC to host a Teeny Tiny Tour of Homes, featuring children's play houses designed by three local builders - Proctor Construction Company, Skywalker Enterprises, Inc. and Brian Flores Contractors, Inc. Throughout November, mall visitors will have the chance to participate in Prematurity Awareness Month by purchasing chances to win one of three Teeny Tiny Homes, with proceeds benefitting the March of Dimes.

"We are excited to be a part of such an amazing effort to help raise awareness of and funds for premature babies," said Ursula Gunter, director of mall marketing for Indian River Mall. "Indian River Mall is proud to be home to the Teeny Tiny Tour of Homes, providing shoppers with yet another reason to enjoy all the mall has to offer."

Visitors can view the children's playhouses, located throughout Indian River Mall, beginning Nov. 1 through December 6. Families can then visit Simon Guest Services to purchase one ticket for $5 or five tickets for $20 to win one of the playhouses. Winners will be randomly selected on Dec. 6. All proceeds benefit the March of Dimes.

"The Teeny Tiny Tour of Homes gives the March of Dimes the opportunity to bring awareness to the problems associated with premature birth and just how prevalent the problem is with more than half a million babies being born prematurely each year in the U.S.," said Pam Crowley, Treasure Coast Division Director for the March of Dimes. "We are excited to give Vero Beach residents the chance to do their part to help in the fight against premature births."

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
