Joni Kinsley: Boys & Girls Clubs "Angel of the Year"

First Annual Award Highlight of I Believe in Angels Dinner

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County pondered various venues for honoring the first recipient of its "Angel of the Year" award, finally settling on the annual I Believe in Angels dinner. But, it took no time at all to choose the award's first recipient: Boys & Girls Clubs board member, and Comcast Vice-President, Joni Kinsley.

Under the leadership of Joni Kinsley, Comcast, the nation's leading provider of cable, entertainment and communications products and services, has not only surpassed its business objectives since entering the Florida Treasure Coast market in 2002, it has exceeded its self-imposed philanthropic goals as well. Comcast invests in the communities it serves, partnering with non-profit agencies and service organizations to provide a wide variety of resources - human, financial and technological - to ensure their ongoing prosperity and progress.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County has been the recipient of a substantial portion of Comcast's community philanthropy. From its sponsorship of I Believe in Angels in 2003 and 2004, the Vince Gill concert in 2004, and the recent Kenny Rogers concert; to participating in Boys & Girls Clubs golf tourneys and underwriting of the agency's Business Leaders Reception; Comcast has invested over $50,000 in the young people and future of our community. In addition, thousands of minutes of airtime valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars have been allocated to tell the Boys & Girls Clubs' story, promote special events and acknowledge its supporters.

Because of Ms. Kinsley's caring and influence, Boys & Girls Clubs have high speed internet service in their computer labs, the Clubs were able to provide Christmas gifts to their most needy members, and Club volunteers have been rewarded with tickets to Marlins games.

According to Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County President & CEO, Ronnie Hewett, "Its not possible to list all of Joni Kinsley's personal and corporate involvements with Boys & Girls Clubs of Indian River County. There is no one is more deserving of being called an Angel".
