"Parenting University" - Tools for Positive Parenting: A Free Seminar

The choices today and consequences are much different now than when we were children! Empowering parents and teachers in the real world today, is the topic for a free communitywide seminar on Thursday, October 29 th. Local expert Dr. Andrew Dobo, a clinical psychologist practicing at the Collaborative Counseling Center in Sebastian, will answers questions after addressing various topics to include:
· Power struggles with kids and how to avoid them
· A four step model that facilitates problem solving
· Understanding which is the right parenting style to use and to avoid
· The place of lecturing, threatening, grounding or yelling
· Natural consequences and the lessons they teach
· Building self-worth in your child
· Chores and other real life lessons
· Negative beliefs and how to get rid of them
School aged children will be treated to a free movie and supervision while their parents attend the "Parenting with Love and Logic Seminar". Please RSVP to this free event to (772) 226-3092.
