Stop Using Now Treatment Groups Offered by
Mental Health Association
The Mental Health Association in Indian River County, Inc. offers a comprehensive substance abuse program called Stop Using Now. Substance abuse is the use of drugs or alcohol in such a way as to harm or endanger the well-being of the user of those with whom the user comes in contact.
The program begins with a comprehensive substance abuse assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and consists of treatment groups that meet on Monday - 4:00 P.M. - 5:30 P.M. (for 18 weeks), Monday - 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. (for18 weeks) and Wednesday - 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. ( for 18 weeks) for individual counseling and drug testing. Aftercare groups are also available for those individuals who have completed treatment and want to strengthen their recovery.
The Mental Health Association, a United Way agency, has been in operation for over 30 years in Indian River County. They have proven their value to the community every day in lives saved, families helped, and connections made for people facing mental health challenges. The Indian River Transit public buses make stops at 37 th Street at the end of the driveway at the Kurtell Medical Building where the MHA suite of offices is located.
